The weather turned crappy and so we hunkered down inside for a while. We did venture out to get the makings for fondue (yum!) and to take a drive up over the mountains near Bourg Saint 
Maurice, through Beufort (yes, like the cheese) and La Chapeaux.
Finally on the 20th, we pried ourselves free of our adopted home and headed off into the wild blue yonder. Roughly we plan to tour the south of France but beyond that, th
e only plan is having a rental car and 
a crappy map. We drove through the Parc National de Ecrins and stayed at a little hotel near Serre Lac de Pon Con, where we were exposed to TV for the first time in months. The A-Team (that's Mr. T up on the tiny screen) and The Simpsons dubbed over in French. Strange.
