Banff National Park - Skoki Backpack Trip, Baker Lake Area

The trail and Baker Lake
Our first backpack in Banff was a popsicle shaped hike into the Skoki area.  Our first day was a bit brutal.  It's 8.2 miles to Baker Lake (our camp spot) and about 2500 feet of gain.  Getting away from the road and the ski area at the start of the trail is not the most amazing but once you climb for a while, you pop out over Boulder Pass and are greeted by Ptarmigan Lake and some amazing mountains.  The camp spot at Baker Lake is about 8 camp pads crammed together in a tiny field but the surrounding area is so awesome, we didn't mind.  Spent two nights there and spent day two just exploring the valley south of Baker Lake (Wildflower Basin?).
