Seal Colony at Big Razorback Island

Today I got to tag along with the environmental folks to help with a field audit at a seal colony.  What a trip!  We rode snowmobiles across the sea ice for an hour to get there and then met the nicest group of scientists who are doing everything right.  Boom.  Audit done.  With lots of time left, they let us tour the seal colony.  They have been studying seals here for years so the seals are totally accustomed to people and don't even bat an eye when you walk by them.  Actually, a few of the younger ones (they had pups about 6-8 weeks before we got there so we saw teenage seals) came over to check us out.  The cuteness factor was totally off the scale.
