Wind and Whales (Husavik and Eastern Westfjords) , Iceland June 4th and 5th

We headed up to Husavik, which is the whale watching capitol of iceland.  It's a lovely little town with snowy peaks in the background and wooden boats in the harbor.  We came up to see the penis museum but it turns out that it's moved to Reykjavik.  Bummer.  Was worth the diversion anyway.

The wind was so crazy as we passed through Husavik and the area just east of the Westfjords.  We stayed in a hostel because it was too windy to put up the tents!

The Westfjords were beautiful.  Stopped at an abandoned herring processing factory that had an old beached ship and an art exhibition going on.  What a surprise.  We finally ended up at Nordurfjordur, where the campground was not open for the season yet but the locals were lovely and told us to go for it anyway.
