Crescent Beach and Mount Brown, Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania

Crescent Beach - this picture
doesn't do it justice. On a sunny day,
it is stunning!
Waiting for something
to happen...
Boardwalk to the blow hole.
The tail is busy and Mount Brown is
more like a hill.
Jeff, Esmee and Steve checking out
the walk.

One of the best reward for effort hikes within a couple hours of Hobart is Mount Brown.  The bush is short and stunted (due to wind and coastal spray) so you get views the whole way.  Mount Brown is more like a steep hill and the bonus of the walk is Crescent Beach, which is a huge sweep of tan sand in a sheltered bay, fringed with steep dunes.  Usually, there's no one else around, which is one of my favorite things about Tassie.
