Parque Nacional Puyehue, Chile

A trail from the campground
Wandering around the upper ridges of the ski resort.
A nice break spot at the top of the ski hill
From the town of Osorno, we headed east to the Termas de Puyehue area (east of Lake Peyehue) and camped at a lovely little camp ground called the Centro Turistico Anticura in Anticura.  There are some lovely little hikes to waterfalls from the camp and I saw my first wild tarantula (eeek!).  We also headed up to check out the hot springs for which Termas de Puyehue is named but found them to be too commercialized for our taste.  There is a ski resort called Antillanca at the end of the Termas de Puyehue road and we hiked up the ski hills to get the most amazing views of volcanoes in all directions.
One of several volcanoes viewed from the ski resort
Too close!

Not impressed with the rules

From near the top of Antillanca Ski Center
A short hike from our campground
