Mill Glacier and Shackleton Glacier Surrounds

A PGC map of Shackleton Glacier (with the camp area circled in pink) and surrounds.
View southeast from Shackleton camp.  McGregor Glacier is on the left, past the skiway markers and the mountains are the Cumulus Hills.
As mentioned in my last post, the goal with being at Shackleton Camp was to get out to Mill Glacier.  These pictures of from around the camp and the one day trip to Mill Glacier.  Also some maps in case you are curious about where this all is...The Trans-Antarctic mountains are pretty stunning.
The sleeping area of Shackleton.
Dean, me and Corey on the twin otter.

Foothills of the Prince Olav Mountains, looking down Shackleton Glacier toward Taylor Nunatuk.
Ice falls - where a glacier drops over steep terrain.

Glaciers merging (the dark line is a moraine
marking the point where they merge)

Looking across Mill Glacier toward
mountains (one of those is Mt
Westminster I believe)
Sastrugi - ridges and grooves in snow
formed by generally by wind

The twin otter pilots (Kelsey and Phil)
Cool geology near Shackleton camp.

Twin Otter with Mill Glacier camp in background and Plunket Point on the right.
Swithin Bank Lateral moraine!  The area where
two glaciers meet and all the ground
up rock they've produced collects
between the two.
A map of Mill Glacier, which flows
into the Beardmore Glacier.
