| GO! |
This is the time of year when the ships come with supplies and leave with all the stuff we don't need. The icebreaker is busting through and meant to arrive shortly (depending on how long it takes them to rescue a Chinese ship that's stuck in the ice a few hundred miles from here). In preparation, we unpack our boom, which is just a floating way of controlling a spill on the water if one should happen. Hopefully not but best to be prepared. The boom comes with bouncy floats that make great vehicles for a bit of downhill racing. I managed to get Kate to take out Deb by grabbing the back of her bibs and pulling her down but I think my short legs did me in. I came in second in the final round.

The race in action (note Kate grabbing
Deb's suspenders to drag her down, junkyard style!)
That's me on the left loosing... |
We also spent a few minutes at the water whale watching and penguin watching. As the ice goes out, the wildlife comes in and there have been more and more whales and penguins near the water's edge close to town.
