There are these crazy ant hills here. The ants are just tiny guys but they build these crazy hour glass shaped ant hills. Why and how do they get the sand to defy gravity like that? Crazy.
The sun came out today. Just like that the rain was gone (more rain is apparently rolling this way as we speak) and the sun is glorious! The ocean has been big and angry and a surfer just got chomped by a shark so I'm not too excited about going in the water but we found the best little pool of turquoise water and we couldn't resist. Saturday afternoon and we had the place completely to ourselves! We are near Conto's Beach, in the middle of the peninsula. There are tide pools to explore with lots of fish and even more red and black crabs.
Sunday, we biked along the rails to trails path and somehow ended up at the Cowaramup Brewery. We've met a nice Canadian bartender who takes good care of us and we may just set up camp here for the long haul....
