Weminuche Wilderness - Elk Creek

Waiting out the rain.

We originally planned to do a backpack in Chicago Basin.  After speaking to a ranger in Bayfield, we decided to go up the Elk Creek Basin instead.  We hiked in a few miles and camped near some beaver ponds.  This was our base for the next 4 days during which we dayhiked to lakes and peaks in the area.  Gorgeous! Rained cats and dogs the first day as we were headed up Elk Creek to camp.
