Went to the Lost Creek Wilderness (about 60 miles SW of Denver as the crow flies but a decent drive away) for a weekend of backpacking. The geology here is pretty amazing and, when there is water in it, Goose Creek (aka Lost Creek) dives into the ground and re-emerges further down the valley as if straight out of the rock. We hiked Goose Creek Trail (
http://www.fomelc.org/lost-creek-trails.html) to a fantastic camping spot up the trail from the old reservoir building remains.
