When we got to Kaikoura, our main goal was to hike up Mt. Fyffe, which we did as a day hike. It was a long day with a lot of gain but you can do it as an overnight with a stay a the hut near the top if you want. The views our over the Kaikoura Peninsula were fantastic, as is the view inland toward the Western Kaikora Ranges.
